Providing access to clean, safe drinking water for rural communities through borehole construction and water purification systems.
In an effort to promote environmental conservation and strengthen community resilience to climate change, SIRDEP carried out the donation of water-friendly tree seedlings for planting around water catchment areas in Alatening Village. This initiative aims to protect and restore vital watershed ecosystems that serve as important sources of clean water for local communities.
The planting of suitable tree species around water catchments helps reduce soil erosion, improve groundwater recharge, maintain water quality, and enhance biodiversity. By engaging community members in the establishment and management of these trees, the initiative also promotes environmental stewardship and raises awareness about the importance of sustainable natural resource management.
This intervention reflects SIRDEP's commitment to supporting climate adaptation measures, safeguarding community water resources, and fostering long-term environmental sustainability for present and future generations..
