Representing the Bamenda III council, the second deputy mayor thanked SIRDEP for the initiative and promised total collaboration, while presenting the council’s focal person for the project. The representative of the quarter heads was also very thankful and appealed for even more of such projects to come to their quarters. Both speakers emphasized the need for a clean environment, while calling on their collaborators to give the SIRDEP team maximum collaboration in the field.
The coordinator of SIRDEP also thanked them for accepting the project and promised to deliver with all diligence necessary.
It is worthy to remember that the funding for this project is from the US Embassy in Yaounde and is meant for the set-up of a community waste management mechanism and the collection of non-biodegradable waste by recyclers to promote domestic waste management and improve hygiene and sanitation conditions in Bamenda III council in the Northwest Region. The five quarters involved are Menda-Bayelle, Teken, Njengang, Manka, and Menteh
